Ghost Town Kadykchan — an abandoned settlement in the Magadan region of Russia. Founded in 1939 as a workers’ village for coal mining, the town developed quickly during the Soviet era and provided energy for the region. After a mining accident in 1996, operations were shut down, and residents gradually began to leave. By the early 2000s, the town was almost completely deserted. Buildings, apartments, schools, and shops were left empty.

Today, Kadykchan stands silent. Crumbling apartment blocks, abandoned toys, and Soviet posters create the impression of a life abruptly interrupted.
